Hey Ya'll it's been awhile since I was one here I got alittle discurged with the whole pre-surgical stuff you have to do but I'm finally done. My surgery is scheduled for 07/23 and I'm starting to get alittle nervous. The biggest things are if you be succcseful at it. I have my whole family behind me and I don't want to let them down. I know I can do this but I'm just scared. I have been heavy all my life and I'm (this might sound funny) scared to see how I will look thin and how people treat me LOL. I'm really excited about being more healthy but that is the one main thing that scares me. Has anyone else felt like this? If so how did you handle it?

God Bless

I'm so glad this blog exists! My surgery is scheduled for July 24th, but I still don't have insurance approval. So, I'm in limbo for now. I'm really excited but also a little nervous. Good luck to everyone.

We are in the same boat Katie, my surgery is scheduled for the 3oth but I still don't have insurance approval yet. I am so tempted to put it on my charge card. I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us that we will get good news soon.

. . . . . . . . hang in there :-)

Hi there! I'm nervous, too. My Lapband Surgery is tomorrow 7/24 - day after yours. Nervous is normal. Let me know how you're doing. I know I'm in good hands with my surgeon and the hospital I'm going to in Grand Rapids, MI. Looking forward to hearing how you're doing. Take care!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
