I am 6 days post-op and no underwire for me! I tried yesterday and it made my port incision really sore. I am wearing the 'leisure bras' no problem right now, but its iffy for work.

I was able to wear underwear okay. I'm not sure if I wore a bra home or not. I would suggest very lose fitting close. Try and stay away from anything with button or zipper. Spandex would be better or a lose fitting dress. The port site will be the sorest. Good luck.

o2bthin thank you for the info. I was told not to wear an underwire for a couple of days after the surgery. And since we still want to look cute after our proceedure I will definetly look for those sets at Walmart.< /p>

I flew home on the 3rd day, snd going braless was NOT an option!!! I wore an older one, that was not underwire, and had been washed to softness. I wore elastic waist pants, and a pull over tshirt type of top. I also made sure to wear slip on shoes, since you have to remove them in security at the airport, and bending to tie shoes might be painful.

The girls laid heavy on my incisions, so I kept them bandaged longer than recommended, but, they healed well.

Go for comfort.....don't waste your money on cute new jammies for the hospital---they will be too big in a matter of 2 weeks time!!!!!

That's what it's all about!!!! WooooHoooo!!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
