previous abdominal surgeries

Recommended Posts

I have had my gall ladder removed, small bowel obstruction surgery and I have had my appendix removed, today during a visit with the surgeon that is doing my VSG surgery h informed me that he needed to pull all of the records from those surgeries to read about them because I could have scar tissue that will affect my surgery. He said that doing it the laproscopic way would be best and has fewer complications but the scar tissue makes it difficult. Has anyone else had to deal with this?

I had gallbladder and two c-sections. One classic cut c-section and one bikini cut and I had my surgery this morning ????

I have had 3 c sections ( two horizontal & 1 vertical) and my gall bladder removed. My surgeon said it wouldn't be a problem.

Like others I had c section, gall bladder removed and a laprascopic tubal ligation and had no problems, my surgeon never looked at my old records. Then I had a Tummy Tuck and all those old scars are gone for the most part LoL--traded them for one big long one

I met with my surgeon for the first time last Thursday. I was worried about the same thing! I've had my gallbladder removed and had a colostomy that left a huge scar down the middle of my stomach. My surgeon said that he didn't think this would be a problem. He said he believes he can still do my bypass laparoscopically but he won't truly know until I'm actually having the surgery.

I have had 2 c sections and a previous exploratory laparoscopy as well as endometriosis. I did get a warning from the nurse about how unpredictable scar tissue could be and that the doctor would not perform the surgery if it is unsafe when he got in there. Good luck!

I just got back from my first appointment with my surgeon. I am also really nervous about my scar tissue preventing my sleeve surgery. I've had the lap band, port removal, port replacement, and lap band removal done all laparoscopically. The surgeon said he won't know until he gets in there whether the scar tissue will be a problem. I will be so heartbroken if I'm woken up from surgery and didn't get my sleeve :(. Anyone with similar issues that ended well?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
