I have the same insurance and my plan does not cover WLS. A co-worker also has an Aetna plan and her plan covered her surgery.

I guess I'll be a cash patient with hope that I can receive a cash discount!

    I have Aetna Choice POS II and my insurance approved my surgery for Sept. 22, 2015. I had to do a 3 month supervised nutritionist diet. I finished that in late July. From that point it took about 2 1/2 weeks to get approval. I was lucky in that my surgeon's office took care of everything, and walked me through each process and medical test.
