Christina,

I'm so happy that you were approved! I'm glad that I was an inspiration as well! You had me tearing up while reading your introduction. I know that you are extremely excited and thankful for God blessing you in this way. It's so wonderful to know that there is hope out there with this weight issue.

I must tell you that I wouldn't have been as successful with the weight loss without the love and support of my friends...especially my BFF...hehe

I look forward to being band buddies!

Love ya,

Barb

That seems like an awful low calorie amount. I'm at 1000 a day.. give or take a few. I get full. I found that fitday.com is a great way for me to track my intake.

:whoo:Congratulations to you on your band date. I just recently went to one of Dr Smith's seminars in Ft Worth (I also live in Ft Worth) and I was very impressed. I work for the City of Ft Worth and Dr Smith is the doctor who does the lapband for our employees. I have a meeting with our Wellness Program director to get started on the 3 month process for approval. I am so excited (my meeting is on 07/11/07). And about Simply Fondue I've been wanting to go, but just haven't made it there. Is it pretty good? Anyway, good luck on your weight loss journey and keep us posted as to how you're doing. It would be great to follow your progress as a patient of Dr Smith.

:clap2:

Good luck with your "banding"! The doctor chooses the size of band based on your stomach size and what he or she feels will benefit you the most. At least that is what I was told prior to surgery. I have a 4cc band. For a last meal prior to surgery, I had seafood....shrimy, fish, scallops, lobster, ........

I am scheduled for lapband surgery Friday 7/28 in Hurst, Texas. I live in Fort Worth and am 54 years old.. I am 5'6" and weigh 213 pounds. I lost my husbamd to cancer in February this year after 34 years of a wonderful marriage. I have moved to a new house, bought a new car, and now I will try to start a new more healthy life.

I appreciate all the info on this site. I have learned alot and I'm anxious to "get it on"!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
