I'm 12 days post op. I had my surgery on Monday and by Thursday I was up cooking meals and doing my normal errands and such. I'm a SAHM of 3 small kids. I have round the clock help thanks to my high school aged sisters. I know I over did it the first week but this week I am SO tired! I just want to lay in bed all day. Yesterday I slept 11 hours at night and had a 3 hour nap then turned around and slept 11 more hours last night (very restless though). Got out of bed at 930 and here I am at nap time at 130 laying down again to "rest/nap". I know rest I'd part of the healing process but is this excessive? ? I have never been this tired before. I know I'm not getting all of my Protein in. But I am trying everyday to get more then the last. Today I should be set on track at 52g.

Protein and Water are very important - how are you doing on fluids? HOpe you start to feel better soon - glad you have some help around the place.

I think people underestimate how tired they will feel after the surgery. I know I did and it worried me because I thought I would always feel that way. However, at 4 weeks I felt my energy return if not actually increased from before surgery.

I took a lot of naps the first 2 weeks or so. I think it's totally normal. Your body needs lots of rest to repair itself from major surgery. By week 3 I was able to stay up all day (but still sleeping a good 9 hours at night.) And now heading into week 4 I'm really starting to feel very energetic!

I napped for several hours every day for three weeks after the surgery. I was exhausted, and I didn't even have children to take care of! Be good to yourself and get all the rest you need. It's important for healing.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
