As much as I looked forward to my sleeve, I am having serious bouts of regret. I had my surgery on June 01, and have lost 38lbs. Within that time I have become dehydrated, was hospitalized for 8-days for pancreatitis. I just got out but I cannot hold hardly anything down besides porridge, fruits and Popsicles. Every meat that I eat, I throw up, even Pasta. I ate a little in the hospital but was given medicine to prevent nausea. I have pills for that but it seems like I am still vomiting at least once a day. I tried frozen foods, that didn't work. I bought food from restaurants and that didn't work. I'm regretting this because I am hungry every two hours but cannot seem to keep anything down. Does this subside?

I would contact your surgeon. I was sleeved the same day and I have none of that. I'm sorry you are going through this but to be vomiting at this point doesn't sound like it should be. I'd be calling your surgeon right away.

I'm sorry to hear about your complications. I hope your surgeons office and dietician can help you with this issue. With the warm weather Sip your liquids and get as much in as you can. Sometimes this is a chore but it is important not to become dehydrated again.

Wishing good things,

Jenn1

Does not sound at all normal.

So sorry you're suffering.

Don't suffer alone or in silence or in ignorance. Please seek your surgeon's help!

First and foremost, seek advice from your doctors office.

Second, Pasta is not a good idea and can cause problems in your new tummy. What kind of meat are we talking about? You are only 4 weeks out...what is your surgeon's meal plan and are you following it?

At 4 weeks out I was still on soft foods. Soft meats and cooked veggies.

Regardless of what stage you are in, you must make it a priority to drink. I know you said you are hungry every two hours but sometimes that is the body telling us it is thirsty. How much Fluid are you getting in daily?

Sorry to hear of your difficulties. Something that was happening to me (the vomiting) be sure that you are chewing everything good. I chew for about 25-30 times to make sure it's broken up-- where I'm taking 30 minutes. I don't vomit as much as I once was.

So sorry to hear this...I would be calling the surgeons office for advice. SF popsickles, Jello, pudding, Soup and Protein Water will help prevent becoming dehydrated again. eggs and cottage cheese are easier than meat early on for protein. Good luck.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
