Too many calories?

Recommended Posts

I am still new to my sleeve - almost four weeks old. I really like these posts about appropriate calories. My nut is more focused on getting in 90-100g Protein and 70-80 oz Water. Because most "diets" are based on calories as well as high protein/low carb etc. they are built on a temporary change in eating habits which is why diets have never provided a long term solution for me. I watch you Senior Sleevers like a hawk! It appears (to me) that the ones who work on a program that will not vary to much when goal is achieved are the most successful. Getting to goal sooner is wonderful and based on lots of individual factors but staying at goal is the ultimate goal and challenge. It seems like those who took a slightly longer road to goal have had an easier time maintaining it at a higher caloric rate. Thank you Senior Sleevers for taking the time and energy to keep supporting us junior sleevers...especially with all the repetition of questions and issues! You have the patience of a saint!

I was instructed to not exceed 800 calories until my weight loss goal was reached.

Help. I've gained four pounds this week and do't know why. Thinking it's Fluid as I am tracking my calories and carbs.

I am four days awY from my one year anniversary and the scale is going the wrong way!

Even people at goal can often be plus/minus 5 lbs. That's perfectly normal. If you haven't changed your eating significantly in any way I would continue doing what's been working and let your body adjust.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
