@@Awjones28, it takes a while to get past that feeling that you just don't want to put anything in there cuz its just going to cause problems. But after a full week, you should be getting better. Don't let yourself get dehydrated. You will feel worse from that too!

My surgery was Tuesday the 25th. I had a VSG and hiatal hernia repair. I came home Thursday. I'm on full liquids - muscle Mille light, milk( low fat), smoothie shakes, strained soups and any of the clear liquids I had in the hospital. and 64 oz of water a day. My key was to switch to plain Tylenol and walk a lot. I went to Menards today ( a local hardware/building supply store) and walked around, drain and all.

How's everyone been feeling almost after a week? Me on the other hand feeling better still in bit pain on left side I have been sipping on water, power aid zero, and protein shake

I'm ok for the most part. My pain is on my right, which is where my largest incision is. I've developed horrible acid reflux over the past couple of days. Guess I should have been taking the Prilosec I was prescribed at the hospital, huh? My follow up is Friday, so I'll see how that goes. Oh, and I'm down 12 lbs, that 17 from my SW!

omg I've been walking around alot have not checked my weight yet but I can tell n my stomach n butt but my largest incision is the one that hurts me so much I drink my protein shake which takes me a while to drink then causes gas but i was gonna ask you did your doc do a hernia surgery on you which reduces acid reflex omg and the other side have you had good amount of energy or you have been getting tired like I have

Cat

I have been on the same boat btw what have you been drinking lately

atkin shakes 15gram ; 2% milk 4 to 6 oz; boiled eggs with soup (only liquid )yogurt and a lot of water. I'm so tired of the protein shakes.

No hernia surgery here. Yes that large incision is a lil feisty. It's actually not the incision, but below the incision almost parallel to my navel, which my nurse said is my actual stomach. Until the swelling completely goes down, it will be a lil achy. Acid reflux sux. I've never had it before so I swear I'm dying now. I took the Prilosec about an hour ago with a GULP of PP thinking I'd get it down fast because I hate pills- epic FAIL. Not only was the gulp a mistake, but the stupid pill got stuck! Imagine trying to burp up a pocket of air, gag yourself to throw the pill up, all while standing over the sink slobbering uncontrollable because you don't want to swallow anything, even saliva. Yup. That was me. Lasted about 7/8 minutes... God I hope this stage ends soon.

Also I find that when I take my pain meds ( I have Hycet) consistently, it's very bearable. Hell I have 2 wks worth, plus it's liquids , so I may as well take it.

I've been drinking premier protein, isopure, broth, hot tea, Popsicles, crystal lite, and water.

I'm down 18 pounds from my starting weight yay me! Pain only when I get in bed and that's from the large incision. The pain medicine is so nasty so I just take me a Tylenol and deal with it. I'm getting my my shakes in also. Awjones what phase have you moved to?

I will be 2 wks tomorrow and moving slowly to purée. This morning I had half of my protein shake and 2 hrs later i had half egg with 3 very small pieces of yuca ( puréed yuca with egg all together and added some soup liquid). Delish!!! I was able to eat 4 baby spoon and was full . I have some left over who wants some?post-260243-14412093396307_thumb.jpg
