Hello Group, I am 5 days post-op and much feeling better everyday. Just started my 30mins walk outside the house today. My worries is I am not able to meet my 48-64oz liquid intake each day. I am only able to meet have of the liquid requirement.Everything taste bad to me even water. Still feeling nauseous even if I am taking nausea meds.

I've been using Isopure unflavored protein, 1 scoop with 20 oz of water and 6-8 squirts of crystal light. I've found that anything lemonade kills the protein taste, blackberry lemonade, etc, also blueberry raspberry. Maybe this could help you. Good luck!

Thank you @@krystalgenie I will try adding some crystal light on my isopure. I didn't even think about it.

Hi @@thecat I've been eating popsicle and jello so far it stays. My mom made some lemonade and I mix it with my isopure drink and I am sipping on it right now. The doctors office checked up on me today they said I should get merelax because I haven't moved my bowels yet. Even if I am only drinking liquids my bowels should be working.

I'm headed to the hospital!????????????????????

How are you doing and feeling

I'm just now starting to feel better. I've spanned the emotional scale from regret to elation in the last 24 hours. My doc is keeping me for another night. I'm up and walking on my own and trying to get my 64/60 oz in via sips. How did yours go?

Mine 2rw n im a nervous wreck hopping my liver has shrunk enough and no food n my stomach cus i did cheat of course n now im stressed about it because if dr holden or kim find out the send you right back out so that's my stres but I have been talking to my nurse and she said I should be fine but im still stressed n nervous we'll keep me updated and btw why do you have regrets about the surgery????

I was having regrets because of the pain and gas. Today I'm almost pain free, maybe a 3/10. I should get to go home today. Keep us updated!

Oh girl suck it up n take that medicine he gave you we need to look for the new us which is on the way and our kids we need to live longer for them???? omg today im so frkn out waiting impatiently for the hospital to call me to let me know when to come by by two I waited n after that I gave up trying to find out what was going on and if they had forgot about my surgery and lol they said we make the phone calls after 4 to remind of the time to come but im just a nervous wreck hopping my liver is shrunken enough

Lol!!! I'm home ! Virtually pain free. My 2yo keeps trying to touch my stomach . I have the On-Q pain catheter in the larger incision . I can take it out on Friday or before if I feel so inclined. That's the only thing that really aches besides the gas. TMI , but I can't pass it!! I've been walking every 2 hours but it's a no go. Oh well. Time to finally lay in my own bed and try to get some rest since there was no rest to be had at the hospital. They get you up every 2-4 hours to walk. Plus all the usual poking and prodding. It starts about 6 hours after recovery. I'm excited about this new journey! Yours is coming soon!

Hi group!! My surgery went well yesterday! My first night was rough, the iv pain medicine was making me sick and I ended up with a migraine from lack of eating.

Today I feel much better!! I got rid of the IV medicine during the night, headache finally gone. Now I'm walking, sipping, walking, sipping!! Should be able to go home tomorrow. My only pain is from my drain. I keep an ice pack on it which seems to help and take liquid pain medicine every 6 hours. Good to finally be on the post op side!

Hey group how is everyone doing i finally came home yesterday afternoon and still in pain but much better than the first day what is everyone eating and drinking

I still like to mix my juice half and half with water. It makes it so much easier to get the water down. Chicken broth will be your best friend for a while. I found it went down easier than cold liquids, and didn't cause any pain afterwards. Walk lots to get the gas all out of your system. Walk, sip, walk, sip....this will be your mantra.

I'm having to force myself to drink broth. I don't have a desire for anything- even water. Im back to using my medicine cups to ensure I stay hydrated. Sheesh...

How many days post op are you? My surgery was tues the 25th. I was able to home on thurs morning. I just got a little better with my liquids. I actually feel much better today able to take a few swallows at a time now. Hang in there it will get better.

My surgery was Monday the 24th. I came home Wednesday. I was doing good thru Friday, but I think I over did it Friday by moving around too much. Plus I went to my son's game Thursday. All day yesterday I was in pain. I know I've still got lots of gas too though.
