Hi i'm scheduled in for surgery on 10th august. My surgeon said that i only have to do a 2 week low fat diet pre op, feel a bit mixed about it to be honest, bit like im cheating, when most ppl say they usually have to do a liquid diet. I was gearing myself up to do it to be honest, and asked him if my liver really will shrink enough for it to be safe enough for surgery, his reponse was absolutley. So i think im going to follow what he says however im going to swap 1 meal a day with a Protein Shake. It cant hurt can it really and i need to get used to drinking them for after the op anyway. Anyway a big GOOD LUCK coming your way for all the august sleevers including myself. Lol .and also to everyone else yet to be sleeved. Exciting times !!!

August 10th for me too! Can't wait!

August 5th surgery

July 29th preregistration and meeting with doctors

July 22nd start the liquid diet

July 15th do the upper GI.

I guess I'm a Wednesday girl.

Then August 20th is post-op meeting with doctor and hopefully back to work. That's the schedule and it's really happening now. Can't believe it.

Want to eat a pizza for my last meal. Is that bad? Should I already be on the health train? Am doing well day to day, eating healthy and just regular meals - no snacking - no ice cream (my downfall). But there is this one local pizza place in town that has sentimental and gastrointestinal pull. I will eat small but I will eat pizza. :-)

It looks like we're VSG twins :) My surgery's also on the 5th. Best of luck to you!

PS: I don't think there is such a thing as a bad last meal ;) Especially pizza :)

I am 8/3, very nervous and excited, tired of being hungry all the time. I waited until my husband is done teaching summer school, and then he is off for 3 weeks. My doc says 2 weeks before, 3 shakes a day and 1, 600 calorie meal. I will leave the meal for dinner. Just got a new Protein, and need to see if it is any good, I have stomach issues, IBS, and so many things upset my stomach, so trying to find the right whey Protein if anyone has any suggestions. Good luck to all of us and may we all be healthier.

I wish you the very best

I don't have my families support on this so when I get to that time I don't know what I'm going to do

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
