Thank you so much everyone. My family said good job but only because it's the right thing to say. They didn't really care much. I think it's because they still view surgery as the easy way out and are all heavy. So also loosing this weight means I'm breaking a family norm and it's uncomfortable for them.

I'm gragrateful to have you all and the support I truly need :)

hang in there. I have heard the comment..this is the easy way out too..good to have support elsewhere! We are all here for you!

Congratulations on your accomplishment! I reached 50 lbs mark this week as well (2-1/2 months out from surgery) but I still have another 50 lbs to go.

It is good to read success stories for they help me keep the faith and help me stay with the program.

I'm pretty close to the 50 pound mark from my HW...6 pounds to go! Very exciting.

5 lbs to go to reach my 50 lbs mark. Can't wait either, because it will mean I only have 100 more to go to get to goal. I know it sounds like a lot but hey 45 lbs in 2.5 mos is pretty freaking awesome and has motivated me to keep up the good work.

Congrats! I just hit 50lbs lost today myself! It's such a great feeling to reach a milestone in the weight loss. 5 weeks and some change and I'm feeling better than ever! I can't wait until I can run and my knees won't feel like they are about to break! Good luck on reaching your goal soon!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
