Hello! I was sleeved on 6/10/15 and had a BMI of 55.1. Since the sleeve, I have dropped about 21 pounds or so in 9 days? Likely mostly water weight, but I'm loosing a couple pounds a day. I would love to hear from people who are further out than I and started with high BMI's like me! It seems a lot of people on the forums had between 30 and 40 BMI's.

I'm getting sleeved Tuesday. My bmi is 67

BMI 55 or higher?

@@sarah1732 et al..

go to the initial main forum

there is a subject/heading/forum called

Weight Loss Specific Gastric Sleeve Support Groups 200+ lbs

you will find other people in your similar weight situations

but.............don't forget us ;)

we all have stalls, problems here and there

these too shall pass

every lb loss is a victory :)

important - take your body measurements FREQUENTLY

sometimes you might not lose weight, but you will lose inches (which is great)

good luck

I too noticed most people had lower BMI than me and I was just curious to hear from those with a higher BMI. Your doing great! I can't wait to start my journey!

I am a high BMI sleever. I was sleeved April 20 and my BMI was literally off the charts (they had to calculate it by hand).

My high weight was 565. My surgery weight was 535 and I am about 453 right now (I don't weigh very often).

I am 5'2" and was 320 on my surgery date of 2/10/15 with a BMI of 58.5. I have lost 65 lbs and am now at 255, with BMI of 46.6. I have felt like my weight loss has been slow, but I had my 3 month follow up this past week (at 4 months) and the doc said a loss between 30-40% of the excess weight was right on targer

Anyone getting or has been sleeved with BMI 55 or higher? How long post op Snd how much lost?

I was sleeved on 5/13 and my BMI was about 58/59 and as of this morning I am down 33.8 lbs. Everyone is different though :) I can't work out as much as some due to a low back problem, but I am working this sleeve as much as I can :D

Good Luck!!

My bmi was 53.1 and I've lost 86 pounds i had rny gastric bypass dec 2014. At first I was bummed it was slow but now I'm extremely happy bc it gives my skin the chance to shrink with it as it goes so I don't have alot of issues with that thankful and I hope I can keep it up i have 110 left to go till my goal.. Dr said as long as I get to 200 he would be happy but I'm pushing for 145. I'm currently at 253. Good luck and congrats on your journey

I am at 53.1, Male 5'10" 370, and I'm scheduled for surgery on July 2nd. Its interesting to read people's experiences with similar BMIs.

My BMI was over 60 at my highest, down almost 75 lbs now (half before surgery, half afterwards) and I am about 10 weeks out. The mantras on here about Water, Protein and exercise are true for me thus far! Thanks for this topic, it is encouraging and inspiring to hear about others' experiences.

My BMI is 60, and my surgery is scheduled on 7/13. We'll see how it goes!
