You know your option if you don't want to continue, you can also carry a child after a sleeve. It's a tough decision.

Your judgement makes me sick.

Guess what? It's none of your damn business what she decides to do. It's ultimately her and the father's decision. Not mine. Not yours.

She needs support right now. Not self righteous judgement.

Oh so I can't have an opinion. There is a reason they invented birth control. So sorry I can't support someone who was so careless, and then just acts like the pregnancy is a nuisance. It's not my judgement she needs to worry about.

Your "opinion" doesn't matter. Nobody cares. She needs support. Whatever she decides to do.

But thanks for playing.

This thread isn't about you or your beliefs. Haters back off.

Well if someone posts on a public forum maybe they should be prepared for the good and the bad. Stop trying to be a bully just because someone doesn't agree with your opinion

is that what your parents told you your whole life is that your opinion doesn't matter, Babbs?? Is that why you are a bully to those who disagree with you?

Thank you everyone for your opinions and support as well, I honestly did not make a decision when I posted this, I simply stated that Im not too fund of keeping the child. Ms jadyn, everyone has their own beliefs there were mixed reviews on the situation the only reason you stuck out so much was for your choice of words of this is sickening to you. I have not figured out what is the best course of action yet but I have spoken to my Obgyn and she has told me either route I take would be safe which was very reassuring. Thank you all for your opinions. I wrote this post because I honestly have no support and I thought turning to my "bariatric family" seeing how hard it is when some of us have little to no support when it came down to the decision of getting surgery, would be a little more understanding and a lot less judgmental. If I wanted to be bashed about being pregnant I would have told my entire family and let them crucify me themselves. As I stated before I'm still weighing my options because this is an extremely delicate situation so thank you for your input I do value your time

You make a personal attack on me about the way my parents raised me, and then call ME a bully? Gotcha.

It's too bad you don't have the same amount of compassion for people already born and living on this earth as you do for the unborn.

But that's typical of your kind.

So today I took a test and it came out positive...... I'm 3 weeks post and apparently I conceived the week before my surgery. I am beyond scared and I honestly don't want to keep the child I have a 1 year old as it is. Just in the mist of a storm right now

Thinking of you hang in there, get lots of advice and do what's right for you

I am very sorry to hear you don't have the support you need - and you did the right thing to reach out here. Wishing you the very best during this difficult time. Having the surgery is plenty of emotional work already.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but not to lash out at you. Take your time and continue to let your body and mind heal.

this is a difficult situation all around. we, her bariatric family, need to remember she needs to talk (post). she has spoke to her OB/Gyn and has to make the decision based on HER beliefs/needs. she posted here because the pregnancy went undetected pre-op. she also has to consider the 1 y/o that needs their mommy and we don't know her entire situation regarding her personal life. we need to make sure she is seeking professional help/guidance and not making ANY decision too quickly without considering her options.

just saying~

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
