I am struggling to find a Week long menu plan broke down meal to meal for all stages of post-op Gastric Bypass. I am going to sound lazy but do eliminate any error on my part, I would like to find a source that will provide a pre-determined menu that I can look at, shop for, and follow.

Why not ask your NUT? I know my program materials provide sample menus but your NUT should be able to help you develop something based on your preferences as well as teach you how to develop your own.

Agree with @@Inner Surfer Girl. That way you are also following the plan your surgeon and nutritionist want you to be on and not a random one that could be the opposite of what they want you to eat. Good luck!!

I was going to recommend the same thing as @InnerSurferGirl and @ShrinkingPeach. Always follow the plan outlined by your surgeon and NUT. Different surgeons and NUTs don't always use the same guidelines, although they are usually fairly close. Your surgeon and NUT know YOU and can help guide you with any issues that crop up. You will find valuable support, encouragement, and a variety of information on this site, but always defer to your surgeon and NUT.

I know that you all say to ask your nut, but I was given a very limited amount of info from mine. I even asked if there was anything else she could give me. I have found most of my info on this site and greatly appreciate it. I found for the puree stage that refried Beans watered down were my favorite. Also avocados and sweet potatoes with powdered Protein and plain greek yogurt mixed in. Haven't wanted to puree meats yet.

I agree, Padremama. My nutritionist gave me poor nutritional info. She actually advised eating converted brown rice. Why bother? There were other recommendations that were off mark as well. She was promoting a certain brand of Protein powder & Vitamins big time. Wonder if the office gets a kick back?

I'm an RN as well as a personal chef, so although I'm no expert, I do know a little and I've been able to research what's right for me on my own.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
