I get my DATE TODAY!

Recommended Posts

I am so excited because I get my date for my surgery today! I can't believe this is really happening. It will be the week of June 15 which is only a few weeks away and will go by fast. I keep having dreams about my surgery...will it hurt? will I cry? will I regret it? I am trying not to give into my anxieties, but my OCD is driving me crazy. How did you all cope with anxiety? What was your experience like? I could use some encouraging words!

Everyone is so different, some have a lot of pain, some have no pain or very little, some get

sick at their stomach and some do not. They put a nausea patch behind my ear before surgery but I still was so sick at my stomach They gave me morphine and really strong nausea shots. I was in six

days the first time but most people are only in the hospital for two days. It is very rare to have

have major complications, I was just one of the unlucky ones but I am so happy with my weight loss

and the way I look now. I have lost 91 lbs. in five months and it is just amazing. I can't be still and I am walking all of the time. I put on my comfortable shoes, out the door and I don't go

back until my legs are killing me. You still have to work at your diet, especially after five or

six months out. You start to want things again that you shouldn't have. The goal is to take all of

your food in moderation. This is a lifetime commitment. Don't eat too much or you will pay for it

with terrible gas or nausea. Trust me, it is worth it all.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
