Hello everyone, I am writing from my hospital bed 1 day post-op. Yesterday was tough due to the effects of anesthesia. I really wasn't in much pain but nauseous and really tired. I literally slept all day. Just felt like I couldn't keep my eyes open. Was able to get a little walking in late last night once I was able to stay awake for a while. I second everyone's comments regarding walking. It really makes ALL the difference in getting the gas out. I'm feeling much better today. Just got back from my GI test and was told my pouch looked superb! Currently awaiting orders from my surgeon to begin liquids. Thanks for the well wishes from everyone and I will keep you posted!

I'm vertically challenged as well at 5'1". I'm only 16 days out from my sleeve. I realistically put my goal weight of 130. Who knows what I'll think when I get there but I as well can't imagine myself at 105. I didn't gain my weight until after puberty but even in middle school I weighed more:)

Hey guys. I just wanted to check in with you. As you may know I am only 5 feet tall and had VSG surgery on June 1st. My highest weight was 235, on the day of surgery I was 222.2 and as of today I weigh 209!!! This an incredible amount of weight to lose so quickly. I am super happy. I am just about three weeks out and I can not wait to see what the future holds. Talk to you all of you, my wonderful short Sleevers, later!

I was sleeved on June 15 so six days post op. I am doing great and feel good. The usual soreness from my stitches and am just trying to not overdo. Taking these first few weeks to heal. I have not weighed since surgery. I don't plan to until I go to have my stitches out next week. I am 5'1" with a medium build. My goal is 130. I would have never even considered that as a goal before WLS

I'm just 4 1/2 weeks out and down 15lbs from my SW 232. Just cleared with no restrictions but no abdominals until 6 weeks out. I'm working out doing cardio 4 days a week and 2 days strength training upper body. I'm 5'3"

Hello I'm 5 feet as well it's been six weeks since my procedure and I've lost 40lbs. it has been a real struggle eating. I didn't post any before or after pictures I just go by my clothes that I can't wear anymore. Yea BMI says the ideal weight is 95-105 but my goal is 175 you should set your own goal and not worry about BMI. Good Luck...

You look great!!!

I'm 5'0ft as well and JUST had my vertical sleeve with gallbladder removal done 6/22/15. So I'm 5 days out and feel pretty good. Have lost 6lbs since surgery. Must admit the first 3 days were ruff! Extremely nauseous and dizzy. Couldn't drink anything for the first 2 days. third day I was finally able to consume about 6 ounces of Fluid in a day. Which isn't much but better than nothing. Now I'm up to 33 oz. a day. I won't lie, I'm still VERY VERY hungry but I got my eye on the prize and know it will all be 100% worth it in the end. Goal eight loss is 80lbs. Starting weight 190. Good luck guys! ????

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
