Just a quick question, I see some of you guys have been banded for a while now....do you guys still measure out your food to be 4oz as it looks like your eating some regular food!

I have a little one cup bowl that I eat out of along with my sandwich plates - I don't use grown up plates or bowls anymore.. After a year I am pretty good at knowing what 4 oz looks like. But I did weigh and measure for the first 6 months or so. Will still weigh things like Pasta as I don't eat it often so I don't know what 2 oz looks like..

The goal of the band is to eat healthy food - to make the change in what you eat - I don't like the whole normal food title - normal food for most of us was high fat - high sugar.. For me my normal food got me fat...

So now I eat healthy - I don't diet I eat healthy and I eat what is considered now a normal portion size not a fat chick's idea of a portion .

Yestdays food - Fish - Pork Rib - Okra & Rice - popcorn - Watermelon - SF fudgecicle - Pt Bar - Banana.. About 1300 calories (which is on the lowside for me as I am suppose to eat 1500 minimum) and 58 grms pt

i still check myself. i don't weigh every day; now knowing what 4oz is vs 2, 3 or 6. my serving spoons are my measuring cups - 1.4c/1.2c/1.3c...so forth. hard to guess when dinning out - but you "know" after a period of time what a meal should consists of; salad plate your best marker to gauge by.

when i feel i'm eating too much - i break out my scale & measuring cups to check myself, not a bad habit to form.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
