How many people have got the surgery because of your success?

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering how many people you know that have got the Gastric Sleeve Surgery as a result of seeing your success?

I've seen 7 people now get it. 4 of my family members are getting it this year. They have said I've inspired them and I made it look simple. I've told them to use the surgeons that this forum suggests for the $3800.00 price. I've even offered to help them pay for it if they need it. I wish I would have done this 10 years ago.

I can't wait for all of us to get pictures this time next year and see the changes.

One person. She is a family member. Her option if this does not happen is death. She is high risk. Waiting and praying for her approval.

I know a couple people. They think it's easy. Lol. I don't want to discourage them and tell them it's not the easy way out. And I tell them to go to support groups and join this forum to hear that EVERYONES experience with this surgery is different. Some go through it like a walk in the park and others.....well not so much.

3 people. 1 friend (who actually had bypass, not VSG), 1 client who also went to Mexico and 1 daughter of a client who had it here in the U.S. Her dad (our client) hugs me practically every time he sees me because she is doing so well, getting healthy and feeling so good about herself. Claims I "saved her life".

Any time you can influence someone's life for the positive is a gift. As long as people realize this is a hard journey mentally, and are prepared.

I've had one person decide to take this step. She's in the qualification period and is already doing well. She has a 3 month wait, but has lost 10 pounds already. She's excited for her future, just as I am. We both have small children and wanted to be around for all the many milestones we'll get to see.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
