I am almost 2 weeks post op. My surgeon said I could do scrambled eggs. I chewed like forever and only ate a little bit. Felt fine. Then I had Greek yogurt a bit later. Now I am in pain. I took gas x. But no relief. Any suggestions?

This is one of my favorite recipes. I've shared it on here a couple of times and others have tried and liked it. I've made it with chicken, ground beef and ham. Ham is by far my favorite because it's the easiest to chew to a liquid consistency. I much prefer this to scrambled eggs. Great thing is it makes 12 servings and it freezes well. Some days I'll eat it for all 3 meals because it tastes so good :D

Magic Crust Quiche

Ingredients

2 cups 1% Lowfat Milk

1/2 cup All-purpose flour

5 large Eggland’s Best eggs

3 slices Sargento 2% Reduced Fat Pepper Jack cheese slices (cut or torn into small pieces)

3 slices Sargento 2% Reduced Fat Swiss cheese slices (cut or torn into small pieces)

1/2 cup Sargento Sharp Cheddar 2% Reduced Fat Cheese shreds

7 oz Deitz & Watson uncured Applewood smoked ham diced small

1/4 cup Cooked red bell pepper diced small

1/4 cup Cooked Vidalia or sweet onion diced small

Preheat oven to 350˚. In a blender or NutriBullet, mix eggs, milk and flour until blended, season with salt, pepper or whatever you’d like. Pour into a bowl and add all cheeses, cooked veggies and cooked meat. Stir to combine and then pour into an 8”x8” or 9”x9” square glass dish. Bake for 60 minutes. Let stand 5-10 before serving. You can add whatever cheeses, veggies or meats suit your taste. The small amount of flour firms up the sides and bottom making the “magic crust” while saving tons of calories. The Nutrition Facts are based on recipe above. FYI - the heavier meats, ie. ground beef tend to fall to the bottom. Serving size is approximately 2”x2 1/2”

If you're gassy, try walking. It helps me!

Go back to liquids for a day or two. Avoid yogurt for awhile, you may have become allergic to milk products.(lactose).

For the pain all I can suggest is to keep walking and to sip warm broth, tea even just warm Water, hopefully they will soothe your pouch. Best wishes

It took me 6 months to tolerate eggs and cheese. Eggs by themselves I was fine. Yogurt... Still scares me I got so sick. Maybe add some lactaid tablets? It has been great for me! I wish I had taken it sooner, because I may want to actually try yogurt again.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
