observastions 1 week post op

Recommended Posts

It is amazing how today I can take a normal size gulp of Fluid. Up till now It was only tiny sips, took forever to get the shakes down

Isopure makes great popsicles .

I have more energy than before surgery but tire easily.

Egg drop Soup strained if FABULOUS and sits good. Very cheap to buy already made too.

I had 90 grams of Protein today, without any difficulty. Earlier post op was about 40 grams.

Life is good........

That's great! I still struggle getting in 90 at almost 4 weeks out! But I can't gulp, still have to sip most things or it hurts! Congrats!

Hi ,

I am one week post sleeved also. I was wondering would you mind telling me what you are drinking in a day? I think I may be drinking to much. I can drink Water very easily then I will have some Protein shake maybe 1/2 cup and then wait and have the rest of the shake. I really think I could just drink it right down but I try to make it last about 15 min.

Then I will have some strained low-fat Soup 1/2 cup again but I feel like I could drink the whole can in about 15 min. Are you feeling full with what you are drinking?

The binder I am going by says 1/4 cup Protein Shake but it just not enough are you able to drink 1/2 or more with each small meal?

Thank you

I can add Protein to my Water, so I can kill two birds with one stone. I use Profuse grape (love it). I drink almost constantly during the day. Which is getting better as time goes on. I drink two Premier shakes a day, 30 Protein each, the rest is all Water with protein.

Hope that helps you Pam

I purchase it through my doctor. Only $15.00 a bottle. Use 2oz per drink. I just purchased berry and that is also good.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
