I'm scheduled for My 19th too! I also have a 4 hr appointment on May 4th and start my pre-op the next day. Not liquids but all high Protein low carb from the store inside my surgeons clinic. In Grand Rapids, Mi with Dr. Paul Kemmerer! I'M SOOOO excited! How are people prepping at home? I feel like I should be nesting like before I had my daughter. So far all I've done is separate clothes in my closet to what I'm wearing now vs. some smaller items from years past that might fit when I return to work. I'm a nurse manager and have to dress up for work-excited for new clothes but not looking forward to the cost of constantly changing wardrobes.

My Dr suggested buying kiddie spoons, forks, plates and a sippie cup. I felt a little awkward buying them since my youngest child is 16...Haha I have never been a shopper, so the idea of buying all new clothes doesn't appeal to me. Maybe that will change when I get to buy smaller clothes. On the 11th I go to the hospital for a full day of pre op testing. I think that's when it will finally hit me that this is going to happen!!!!

I have not. When I go to my 4 hour NUT class on Tuesday I will leave with a 1 month supply of supplements. This is one thing included in our 350 dollar program fee

I had my pre-surgical class with the RN and nut last week so I bought mine. I ordered a chewable Multivitamin and several different types of Protein Powder to try. I ordered Calcium supplements as well. I have Biotin and Vitamin D at home already. I also ordered a Blender Bottle that the nut recommended for Protein Shakes.< /p>

Anyone else feel like this is going to be the longest week of your life?! I tried to really fill my work calendar to keep me occupied and so I won't be too behind when I get back to work but I feel like time is moving in slow motion!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
