One month out only 16lbs down. Constantly constipated, no weight loss in 2 weeks. Lots of meds to make me go, no dairy at all. Still having sharp isolated pain when I cough, sneeze or turn over. No energy, no desire to eat cause I know it's just clogging me up.....and the list goes on and on....not to mention depressed!

Hang in there!! I was right where you are 5 months ago. Promise it gets better!!

Focus on getting Protein in, it'll help with healing also. I had the sharp, isolated pain in my belly also. Then one day, I felt a "snap" in my belly and the pain was gone. Someone told me it's like an internal stitch gets caught or something, and it'll break free at some point and no more pain. (if that's what you're feeling)

Constipation will get better as well. Are you still on pain meds? They'll cause that.

Also make sure you're getting in your liquids. It'll help with the constipation.

I had so many days/ weeks/months of thinking, "What have I done?!" But I am SO happy now, 6 months out--78 pounds gone, that those horrible days are a blur now. People who say we've taken the easy route are SO wrong, it is not easy AT ALL! But anything worth fighting for, isn't easy.

Once you can increase your Protein, it'll also help you lose more quickly. Same with drinking Water. You'll get there, promise!!

I was 16 pounds down at 4 weeks post op too. I am a band to bypass so I was told I would lose slower than a straight bypass so I am okay with it. I know I was not always hitting my Protein goal now my exercise goal so I was glad with 16. I am now 6 weeks post and I have been hitting protein goal and a little better with exercise-I have added weights-and I am .3 pounds from hitting onederland...it does get better. Hang in there. Push the fluids and walk walk walk and that will help with the Constipation too. Good luck!

Fluids are my struggle which doesn't help with my issues.....I think right now I just want one "normal" day....lol

Can't overstate enough about those fluids and protein! It's the hardest part for me, getting all those fluids in. I'm 8 weeks out, and if I'm a little light on the fluids, I get bound up. If I'm light on Protein, weight loss and energy drop off. I am at the point where I can put benefited in my water bottle, but more importantly I have to actually drink ALL the water!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
