April 25th for me, any surgery buddies?

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I'm taking the plunge and writing on here for the first time. It's been a great support already. I am booked in for a gastric bypass RNY on Saturday 25th April and nerves and excitement have kicked in.

I'm a mother to a young child so that is playing a huge part in the nerves. I'm excited to be a healthier parent though.

Currently at 265lb with a BMI of 47. Really unsure of what I'm expecting to lose, and although I have done the research I still feel unsure of what to expect following the surgery.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Any surgery buddies out there?

Thank you. Phew I feel better for writing that down! X

We can be surgery buddies! My surgery is Tuesday May 19. I feel really good about the surgery. I've been doing the pre-op diet for 15 days and I've already lost 15.5 pounds. I really believe I have my mindset going in the right direction!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
