I am going for my surgery tomorrow!! So nervous!

Just been to the supermarket to buy a few things for when I get home. What did you drink (I know it's liquids only) for the first week? I got some miso Soups, coconut Water, yoghurt drink and Soups to strain. I read somewhere that if you add Protein power to coconut Water it's a good way to stay hydrated and get your Protein in? Anyone recommend anything else? Also Vitamins I bought Biotin, Calcium and a Multivitamin. Would love to hear any tips! ????

You might want to get some liquid B12 as well. And make sure you read the dosage label for your Calcium. Most calsium supplements require you to take multiple pills more than once per day. I am on Citrical Maximum and take two pills twice a day, which is still less than the label recommended two pills three times a day. Make sure not to take your calcium and Multivitamin at the same time if your multi has Iron in it.

Week 1 you should only have Water. Diet Jello and broth. Crystal light and Protein shakes. Every surgeon is different but mine said the first 2 weeks is clear liquid, not Soups until week 3....... Ugggg but it goes fast

That completely depends on your surgeon. I was allowed full liquids on my 3rd day post-op. Everyone has a different plan and the OP should follow the one their surgeon gave them.

I had surgery on Tuesday. My surgeon does clears in the hospital for two days, then you go home on full liquids for two weeks. Every doctor is different...

As already stated every surgeon is different. Mine had me on full liquids as soon as I got home on day 3. It was sugar free drinks, sugar free Jello, sugar free pudding made with milk & Protein Powder. Stained Soups ( cream of mushroom was my fav) smashed cottage cheese, ricotta, Greek yogurt. Three 4 oz Protein Shakes a day. A multivitamin, B12, d3, and Calcium from citrate. Good luck!

It really is amazing how different each surgeon's program is. I was on Clear Liquids for 2 weeks post op. Then I started on regular liquids week 3. I wasn't allowed to resume taking Calcium after surgery until 4 weeks post-op.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
