Hi everyone my name is Stacy and i got my band April 30th 2007. I had my first fill on June 6th 2007 and at first i had alot on restriction but after about four days i felt like i did before the fill are maybe even looser. Has anyone else had the happen to them? I have the big VG 10cc band and the Dr. added 3cc. Could the restriction been from my stomach being swelled? Someone please help i am getting so frustrated. The weight is still comeing off but it's because of me not the band. I guess what i mean is that i am still hungrey. Ihope everything is OK. PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS NORMAL!!!!! I have already posted this once but it was on the wrong thread i think it was on pre-op and post-op ?s and answers. Sorry just wanted you know i was not being pushey!!!

Thanks Stacy:help:

Hello Stacy,

I was banded November 14, 2006 and didn't have restriction until this last fill May 30. It took over 6 months to slowly creep up to the "sweet spot" but like you, I also kept losing simply by not allowing myself to overindulge. I lost 90 pounds before finding the sweet spot but let me tell you that when you finally get there it's soooo much nicer to have the help of not being hungry and filling up with just a little food. Hang in there, slower is better--at least it was for me. Good luck! Susan

a 10cc band. i dont know how much is in there now but i will find out when i go for my 2nd fill:). i believe the nurse said that band is more restrictive but i dont know what that exactly means. i was asking so many questions and nervous about it being the 1st fill that i didnt ask intelligent normal questions:cry. does anyone know why its the most restrictive? i didnt even know that there were different ones. whats the difference btwn all of them??????:)

I think it just means they have alot more room to play than with the smaller band. Becouse people are so diffrent were it may take the whole 10cc to fill me it my only take 6ccs to fill you. My dr. said there was just more room for the future. and i was really scared about my first fill to. But after i had it i felt like a big baby. Who would of tought that a big old needle in the stomach would not hurt. I was scared to death!!

When I woke up from being banded, my surgeon told my mom (who then told me) he gave me the smallest band. I think it's 9.75cm.

He told her that it should give me good restriction before even getting fills. At the time I was excited, I'd feel restricted during bandster hell.. not so much!

I had my first fill last week, I asked him to be aggressive since it's a 3 hour drive and I was SO ready for the fill.. So I have 1.5cc now.. still no real restriction, I'm hungry so much at night (during the day I guess I'm alright).

I just called this morning to schedule another fill on July 2nd.. hoping to feel SOMETHING!

My bandster hell has been extended.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
