How many calories to lose faster?

Recommended Posts

Hi! I just reached my two month mark on Tuesday, and so far I'm down 40 lbs, which is great, but I was wondering how many calories everyone was getting after 2 months. I know my dietician said I can't work out too much because I don't have enough calories going in now. I'm getting around 870 calories a day, and I know I will eventually be between 900-1100. How many is everyone else getting? What is the intensity of your workouts?

I workout about 5-6 days a week and usually get in around 900-1000 calories a day. After the workout the net calories are usually around 400-500. It's hard for me get in anymore. I've tried to eat a few higher calorie foods too. My weight loss and been pretty consistent up to this point. One thing I do for sure is get my Protein in daily. I usually average no less than 110 grams of Protein a day.

What's the rush? You didn't gain overnight.

I work out 5 - 6 days a week. I eat between 700 - 900 calories a day and 80 - 100 gms of Protein. Every program is different. Follow your dietitian's instructions.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
