I am Happy to say I went to my two week check up. My highest was 316 day of surgery 303 and Monday 3/30 I was 286!!! It has been a little rough for me. I'm going to tour a gym Thursday hopefully start some Zumba classes next week. I am wondering if any suggestions for the puréed diet. I tried tuna salad pre surgery I LOVED IT and now my stomach isn't there. I have back some broccoli cheddar Soup blended and thinned and Apple sauce Protein Shake and chili for 2m at work. It's my first day back. I have everything in 4 oz cups n not filled to the tip top. I know liquids and Protein are key. Any suggestions?!?!

My stage was mushy/purée so I don't know if that really makes a difference but I did the refried Beans with soft topping like cheese, avocado, sour cream ect...also ricotta bake was a favorite with a think topping of spaghetti sauce. I did crab cakes minus the bread crumbs. You could try a blended chicken or ham salad.

I know this might sound silly. What's a ricotta bake?? Sour cream was ok?? I'm

Going to get some avocados I love those and didn't think of it. My surgeon is very very strict. It's hard bc I asked him about beans and mashed potatoes and recommended against it. He said its on the list but I would say no. So asking him

For input is a little difficult and gets to be frustrating. I follow his orders as much as possible but I also do a lot of research on my

Own for guidance. Any suggestions on chili?? I know it's not fully puréed but it goes down quite easy.

@SaraJay425 I pureed chili. I am eating everything Elode listed right now in my puree/soft stage. chicken salad pureed is very good and filling if you don't like the tuna salad. I was also allowed Tilapia, which I love. I don't do the potatoes at all because of the carbs, but refried Beans have some Protein and Fiber... and they are just so darn good! Ricotta bake is Yummier version of fatfree cottage cheese topped with Marinara or Spagetti sauce, it is tasty and a good source of Protein.< /p>

I also use those little 4oz Rubbermaid snack containers! Makes it so convenient. I have a 2 oz limit, so I just fill them half way.

Ok. Don't laugh. My pureed stage was only about 10 days. You have to put a lot in the blender just to get the food to puree at all. Even in the NutriBullet. I didn't want to eat the same thing everyday. So the week before surgery I went to the grocery store. As I was walking up and down the aisles, I walked past the baby food. I got half up the aisle and then though, "maybe??". I went back and looked at them. There are several brands. Gerber is a brand I recognize as having been around since forever. I grabbed a few and took them home. Fast forward to post-surgery. Most of them were actually pretty good. They all lasted for more than one meal and I still ended up giving some to some new parents I know. At least if there are leftovers you can safely give them to someone. I will say the pureed meats in the little tiny jars are disgusting. Don't bother. There was a turkey and sweet potato that I liked. And a chicken orzo something. I just had to mush the orzo up a little more. I also got a small jar of green Beans (pureed) for a little variety. And, I got a jar of the bananas. I know we really aren't supposed to have fruit that early, but I ate one baby spoon full per day on the last 3 days in the evening. It satisfied my sweet tooth.

Also, I found these long handled plastic baby spoons on Amazon that really helped to not put too much in mouth at once, and being long handled it made them easier to manipulate.

HTH

World according to egg face. Great blog and had some great ideas for puree stage... Just type puree in search section it's some idea at least. Can search on here as well. Good luck, I still have another week but I can't wait.

My doctor cleared me

For exercise. He told me

To take it easy at first but did not give me any restrictions. I think I'm

Going to double

Check with him 2m and ask him what kind of exercise I should be doing at first.

Mine said just walking and then light exercise. I went in for my six month check in recently and told him I had started running but was having problems with the extra skin. He said I could use a compression shirt, but that I might be better with an elliptical because of running's high impact.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
