Has anybody experienced a wave of squeezing discomfort in their stomach pouch that radiates to their back? I'm 4 weeks post Op sleeved and this week this symptom has popped up. I'm having trouble pin pointing what it could be. It does it when I'm not eating throughout the day. I'm so scared. I'm trying to hold off going to the ER. Could it be Gas? Or something ?

I'm not at liberty to give medical advice on what it could be or not but if you hadn't already put a call in to your surgeon I would encourage you to. I don't mess with pains that don't feel normal after having major surgery like this. thats me :/..one qustion..are you getting your fluids in throughout the day and Protein? thats all Im going to ask..

Do you still have a gall bladder? The radiating pain sounds like a gall bladder issue...but yes, put a call into your doctor as soon as you can if it continues.

Yes I still have my gallbladder. I'm calling my doc tomorrow morning. I just took 3 tums and it calmed down alot. Could it just be my acid reflux acting out

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
