Hello everyone. I am 11 days out and feeling great. Could anyone give me a name of a good walking shoe? I don't know about you all but I can't wear a lot of tennis shoes for a long period of time....my feet hurt after a while from the weight. Any input is appreciated.

If there is a running shoe store near you, go and be fitted. They carry walking shoes also, but running shoes make great walking shoes! They will analyze your gait and give you several options to try on.

Check out

saucony, ....my husband loves these shoes, he has had his pair for years, I also, have a pair and they are super comfortable, they are used mainly for running though

asics, ..my grandma has had numerous back surgeries and she wears these daily even around the house because of the gel and comfort

Hope you find something you like! :)

Also agree go to a good store. The owner looked at me walking in, brought pair after pair all the while telling me what makes a good shoe. I love them. New Balance BTW. I now run in them. I'm 59 and I run. The shoe makes the difference.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
