More on Crazy Penny

Okay, so I'm watching the full episode now (I saw a clip show previously). First of all, she's from my neck of the woods! I shop at the same grocery store sometimes.

Second, she didn't have a band, she had a sleeve, and OMG the size of the stomach they took out was INSANE! Also, Dr. Now said BEFORE her surgery that she liked to play the victim - she was on oxygen she didn't even need! She won't do a soft diet - does she want a rupture! And someone is sneaking her food . . .

I hate her husband so bad right now. She's even worse.

She doesn't make me look bad. She doesn't reflect on me in any way, as a matter of fact. I dare say she reflects on no one I know who has had WLS. She's a very extreme example of WLS patients

I'm going to go ahead and throw out the thought that the title and the original post in this thread makes me really sad. I hated that episode. I hated her life and I hated what she did to herself an

Im sorry, but I think shes crazy. I cannot empathize because she pissed me off.

I sincerely hope the people you encounter in your life's journeys are more capable of such. I honestly do.

If I acted like her I wouldnt be deserving of empathy. Dont insinuate I cannot be empathetic at all. Her I just can't.

I did nothing of the sort. I simply wished you better than you feel you can give. :)

I hated watching this woman eat, HUGE portions were placed in front of her and she would go to town. Granted that she didn't finish it, but you could tell she was trying to work her way up to it. Also the drinks she had while eating, we all know this is bad practice. Doesn't look like she has any of the support

Penny has serious control issues. Her husband is an enabler, with zero backbone, who can't work because he has to care for her. She needs some serious tough love, or her poor child will be burying her at a very young age.

Why are watching obese people so popular? I watch them (rarely) to see the afters. If they don't have a good after it pisses me off! I wonder if that's why most people watch it or do they just like to criticize The obese and assume that all obese people are that exact way?

Never seen it, but I hear people talk about it all the time at work. I don't understand why a show about obese people is such a huge draw. But everyone at work talks about it non stop, always putting down Penny. So sad.

Same! Instead of showing them six weeks later (as they do on one show I watch), I wish they'd go back six or even twelve months later, so you can actually see how they have changed over time.

Watching obese people is no different than seeing shows on little people, people with rare diseases, people who practice polygamy, people who have 19 kids. It's normal to be curious about the lives of other people around us, especially if they are taking on - and beating - difficult challenges. Considering how high the rate of obesity in our country is, I'm not surprised this show is popular - people want to see how those with extreme obesity change their lives, so maybe they can change their own.

I havent seen it but I stopped watching "reality tv" years ago. I cant stomach the scripted crap. The reality of "reality tv" is they needs ratings so they set it up so you keep watching. People love watching train wrecks and that is how the show makes their money. The best thing to do is turn it off and tune it out completely. I like positive uplifting stories about people that have overcome lifes struggles and I also cant stand the fact that people make money off of other peoples hardships for the sake of entertainment.

I agree that the vast majority of reality tv is garbage. I think 600lb life has some value to it though. It can serve as a wake up call to some and some of the people on it are an inspiration.

I wonder if Penny wants to be the star of the show, after all we all know who she is if you have ever watched the show. I want to climb through the TV to strangle her!
