I was sleeved on 1/30. In total including Pre-Op I've lost 60 with 17 of it being Pre-Op. I've stalled so many times and I'm not sure why. I'm watching what goes in, making the right food choices. I don't always get the amount of Protein in the doctor wants but I do my best on those days. I've even been doing cardio at the gym since my doctor won't release me to do strength training until my appointment tomorrow. It's frustrating and I'm not sure what to do. I thought it had broke but this morning I was up a lb. Possible Water weight I'm sure but I don't like it. Any tips on breaking stalls? Thanks for reading my rant lol

Well, I think from what I have ready from others stalls are going to happen even if you are doing everything right. I have heard various reasons for stalls or plateaus. I am not sure anyone really understands them. We only get frustrated by them!

How long has this stall lasted? How often do you weigh? How regular are your BM's?

It may be that your body holds on to your weight and dumps it all at once in large weight losses at the scale, while others are slow and steady. Everyone is different. That being said - I think you are doing great!

We have the same surgery date; however, I had the RNY. Your weight loss so far has been great. Just shy of 8 weeks and you have lost 43 lbs! I have only lost 31.5 lbs since surgery (59.5 total). Hang in there!

Thanks for the reply. It's definitely frustrating. Sadly they're not very regular so that may be part of it. I've recently tried Miralax which seems to help. I weigh too often lol. It's so exciting so I find it hard to resist just to get mad lol. Congrats on your loss!

My surgery was 1/9 and I too am stalled. I have lost a total of 37 lb, could have been more but I had a post op GI bleed and they put 20lb Fluid on me. I have started the gym this past week and do not have the release but have been doing 5lb weights ( ok to lift up to 5 lb, why not?!) also started TRYING to jog. I hit a 17 minute mile. I would have never tried before! I'm finding my body reacting the most to the jogging and my body changes and strengthening to these activities. I also found a gym offering TRX and wi go forward with that in the near future, I'm gonna push back and win this fight!

60lbs is awesome! I had surgery 1/28 and have lost 38lbs and I am very happy! I have not experienced the stalls and have consistantly lost 1 to 2 pounds per week but I have not had the big losses that others have. I am very happy with the slow weight loss and I think we should always be patient because each persons body will lose weight differently, just keep up the good work and you will get to your goal!

Good Work!

I was sleeved on Feb 28th this year. I didn't lose a pound on the pre op diet.

I have lost 17 lbs so far. I think I'm losing kinda slow, I weight every Saturday but I decided to take a look at the scale... and the weight is the same...????

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
