Had my first foaming and throw up session since my surgery. Ugh not good don't wanna do that again. Jeeze I feel gross. Tried to eat stuff I shouldn't have, a small piece of pork roast chewed up very well but it didn't stay.

It's happened to me many times. I was sleeved on 12/30. I think I am doing all the right things but still have these bad episodes. Not good.

Its happened to me once but I didn't throw up although that might have been a relief.

Do NOT want it to happen again.

I'm 5 1/2 months post op and had my first foaming/throw up experience yesterday. I ate fresh kale, which probably should have been eaten steamed or cooked. What a horrid experience! I won't ever eat that again. Besides that, I tolerate most meats and vegetables rather well.

How soon after you eat does it happen?

I actually threw up/foamed 90 minutes after eating the kale. It's odd that it took so long to upset my stomach. It happened 15 minutes after taking my bedtime pills, which included an antibiotic that I had been taking for a sinus infection. So, it either was just the kale or a combination of kale and the pills. Either way, I had extreme nausea and stomach upset for 10 minutes before it happened. I threw up kale and pills at the same time. Throwing up half way

dissolved pills is quite nasty. Although I felt tons better afterward.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
