Having a rough time at dinner. So I'm gonna spend it on my phone lol. I'm 3 months out and I've lost 65lbs. We are at Cracker Barrel and I'm waiting on my salad. They brought out a massive plate of biscuits and cornbread and say it in front of me. I had to make each of my kids a biscuit with jelly. So that was hard. I keep telling myself it's all worth it. I know that. But I do miss bread sometimes lol.

Good for you. I'm only 5 weeks post op and I'm scared to go out to eat. I remember what I went through in restaurants when my band was too tight and I'm nervous what its going to be like with the sleeve. Did you lose the 65 pounds after surgery?

@@LSF I have been going to restaurants now for a couple of weeks. It's definitely doable and you get a few meals out of one order. If your fellow diners do not know about it then it can be a bit awkward but I just pushed through it.

I am 10 days post op, at the end of the month we have a birthday dinner for a friend at Fogo De Chao... A Brazilian steakhouse with endless meat... I am so nervous about being there with everyone eating tons of food and I have a Protein Shake.< /p>

Yes I lost the 65 after surgery :) restaurants are hard still. Just because every one in my family doesn't make it any easier on me. For instance I whined about not being able to have dumplings last night so my sister got some so "I could have a bite" I was like, "I can't have a bite. I just can't." They don't quite get it. I order off the kids menu a lot. A kids grilled chicken and a veggie!

I have had a few temptations along the way. I try to address it by finding something I can have that is as close to what I want as possible. However, if that does not work, I have had a small amount of the tempting item. And then I am over it. Because as I have it, one of two things seems to happen: (1) it "scratches the itch" for the item and/or (2) the item is not that great after all and/or uncomfortable in my stomach so I am less interested in repeating it.

I really try to remember that I can have all of this later -- in moderation. Right now I'm still focusing on losing weight.

Good luck!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
