Weight loss phase little to no carbohydrates. My nutritionist had me add a small amount of carbohydrates back in after I lost 75% of my weight. two table spoons one meal per day. Each Dr. seems to have their own instructions.

Im a post op and have to have a revision thanks to the military docs that did my surgery. I did 30 or less prior to moving to Kansas. The nutritionist here thinks im crazy. She says the brain and body can't function on that amount. I want to be successful and lose my regain and keep it off. Thanks for helping.

My NUT said to just try to keep my number of carb grams less than the number of Protein grams each day.

I try not to make it complicated. I count nothing. I do eat my Protein first. Doing that pretty much limits carbs as there is just no room for more food! I don't keep anything unhealthy in the house. I do have dark chocolate almost every day and that keeps me happy :)

I keep it simple too. My nut told me two bites of Protein for every 1 bite of vegetables. If u follow that rule u really don't have a lot of room for carbs but you get good carbs and it enough to keep your brain functioning.

Also if I have a snack I will eat protein type Snacks such as cheese, nuts or a glass of milk.

My doc had me on 75% Protein, 25% carbs (from vegetables, no processed carbs like pasta). I was on an 800 - 1000 calorie diet. So between 200 to 250 calories a day were from low glycemic carbs. I got most of my carbs from Beans and lentils.

My NUT told me to keep my carbs at 15 per meal. My last doctors visit.....he told me to set down and eat three meals a day.....no snacking and no grazing and I would lose faster.

@@army_wife13 My little 20 sometimes more is probably a little low but I do Protein first then I'm full so they just stay low. But you can assure your NUT I've been doing this for 4+ months and my brain is functioning perfectly fine..as in deans list 4.0 gpa fine so Don't fret!

I don't really consider my daily carb intake as I only eat good choices (greater than/equal to 15g Protein, less than 5g fat, less than 5g sugar per serving). I just monitor my fluids, Vitamins, and protein. Maybe, when I get to goal carbs will become more important...

I hesitate to weigh in here but I'm curious if anyone else is in the same boat as me. I'm one year out and have returned to a very active lifestyle. I'm currently training for a sprint triathlon in September. I normally do about 1.5 hours of cardio per day in one of the disciplines (swim, bike run) and another 30 minutes of strength training 5x per week. On the weekends I usually ride my bike (racing pace 16-18 mph) for 40-60 miles. My nutritionist/RD has told me to get at least 1800 calories per day and 120-130 grams of carbs. 130-150 grams of Protein. I still have about 35 pounds to lose after dropping 105.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
