Hello! has anybody heard of Long term vsg?? They have the gastric sleeve surgery for $2999. It just sounds too good to be true. Please let me know!

I am thinking of Mexico and will likely finance myself through a loan and plan to get it this summer because I am a teacher. I will be researching these doctors for sure. Just wondering if I start with my doctor here or contact them first.

I'm also curious about him. Definitely considering having surgery there this summer.

I am doing well and am overly grateful for all of the changes that are happening.....no more blood pressure meds and after weigh-in today, I am down 27.5 lbs total at 5 weeks post op.

As far as eating out, I really don't eat out much but trust me there are so many things you can eat......the important tool is to not over do it. I have heard of many people who regret their surgery. I think it is the natural thing. For me, I just don't feel hungry so my battle is to get the necessary calories in. I think another big help for me is that I have found protein shakes that work for me. Please take some time to research and try different ones so that you can find your best match.

As far as the clinic.....everyone was so great with me. When I went, I stayed at the clinic the entire time. The recovery room was still not complete. I went alone so that made it easier for me to stay there. My doctor is great and Ruben stays in constant contact and answers any and all of my emails promptly. I have no regrets about my surgery or my choice of surgeon/facilitator. I hope this helps.

I contacted them last night and Ruben promptly responded by this morning. Still looking into options but it is nice to get a prompt reply and answers to my questions.

The clinic setting is also holding me back as well. I have sent Ruben an email asking about the lack of an ICU as I would prefer a place with one. I'll update when he responds.

Zavalza is also on my list of considerations. Lots of choices.

I would recommend having a conversation with your PCP to let them know what you are thinking and why. It's nice to have your PCP on board with the process so they can provide some follow-up care and order post-op blood work for when you are back home. You'll want to monitor your blood work in the early months to make sure you aren't developing any deficiencies. And also, it's nice to see improvements in your cholesterol and A1C as you lose the weight!

I called them and left a message, they called back the same night within a couple of hours. I hadn't received the email they sent me so he answered all my questions over the phone. Also you can select the tab to apply, this will get an email response within a couple days for sure. Ramon is the one who called me back, making sure all my questions were answered and he pointed out how to apply.

@chrissyg... Awesome! Thank you, so nice to hear from someone who's gone there. So glad you had a good experience. I loved reading about it, it helps to know what to expect. I'm trying to go on pre op diet now, to get use to it, my surgery is not until June 8, but trying to help my body stop craving junk. Wish I was doing next week, but everything for a reason...

I am new here but have been lurking for a while. I am sure that I want to have Gastric Sleeve done in Mexico but uncertain about the surgeon. Since I will be self pay, cost is definitely a factor. I was really interested in Dr. Ramos Kelly but the $2999 price is very appealing. I wish I could find more reviews on Dr. Mayterena or Dr. Arellano with Longterm VSG. Anyone else use these doctors or find more reviews for them?
