  • So far waiting for my surgery, they took blood, I peed in a cup, I have my IV. The clinic is small but very efficient. Everyone is so nice.

  • Anyone interested in having surgery, this is the best place, hands down. Everything is NEW! It is right next to the plastic surgeon, Dr. Victor Gutierrez, and I hear he is the best plastic surgeon

Hey I'm here in TJ too!!! And what gift me interested in the first place was finding out a lot of people I know from "back home" in MO were cunning here to do the surgery. In going to Hospital Florence in playas with Dr Camelo... I'm a but nervous since I dont see his name here from any others... So if any has used him please let me know!

@@Lisa Perez...I came in 2011 too!!! (I've been here 4yrs) that's awesome!!! Have you gotten the sleeve or are you going to have it done? My sx date is 6/8. So nervous but ready to start a new chapter. In just trying to be super conscious of what goes into my body, and trying to reset my taste buds. So my body won't be on took in too much shock with all the changes that are coming. :) haven't received my pre op diet yet.

I had surgery on March 18th with Long Term VSG. Dr. Maytorena did my surgery and all is well. SW 244 CW 219. 25lbs since surgery.

Bumping this up... has anyone else gone with this Dr or decided to go? I've started looking back into VSG again and was going to stick with my previous decision of Dr Lopez through Specialized Bariatrics but if I can save money while still getting a quality Dr and care then I'm all for it.

@@Chrissyg, I don't know if I just didn't see this part but did you go by yourself? I'm debating whether or not I want to take my husband with me.

Yes ma'am I did. I left early Wednesday (I live close to the border, 2 1/2 hours close) had surgery Wednesday evening and then drove myself home from the border. I had zero complications and I am very pleased with my results.

I'm really excited about this place! I just talked to Ruben and he was so sweet and patient with my 8 million questions lol. I was surprised to find out how short the stay is. Just 2 nights! One in recovery, one at the recovery house and you're leaving on the third day. @@LewisD, are you bringing anyone with you? I know @@Chrissyg went alone and someone else stated on a different thread that they were bringing a companion but Ruben stated there is no room at the clinic and it costs an extra $40 for them to stay at the recovery house with you. Not a big deal since it's only one night there anyway.

Edit: @@krazypisces.momma, did you go alone?

I'm trying to find out what companions did as far as the accomodations for the first night if they came along?

I had VSG done w/ Dr. Corvala last year in July. Any questions, feel free to ask :) def recommend it and him as well. Hospital was amazing and so were the nurses. I've never had such good care in my life (been to going to doctors since I was a kid). Very impressed

I did travel alone, I made last min travel arrangements and didn't feel like paying for someone to join me. I also was able to recover in peace lol. Your companion is welcome to stay with you as far as I recall them saying
