  1. My before & after pics in a slideshow since having my gastric sleeve surgery........https://youtu.be/w3iQtxtwtmY
  2. Many people have heard about Long Term VSG and their $2999 price and many people were skeptical because it was so low. I just had a follow up with Ruben and the price is going up. So if anyone is interested in grabbing this cheap price, you best do so now because it'll be going up to $3600 real soon.
  3. I am not sure how much that type of surgery would be. Here is their website........http://longtermvsg.com/. Contact Ruben and he will be able to let you know.
  4. OK I just found some info I'm doing my research now , but is this where you have gotten your surgery and if so with what surgeron? Yes this is who I used.....My surgeon was Dr. Jorge Maytorena.
  5. I am so very disappointed in Bariatric Pal Website. They continue to remove the post about Long Term VSG simply because they don't want to pay to advertise on the site. That is quite ridiculous considering it is a weight loss forum. So in other words, unless a company advertises on the site, we can't share our journey on the site. How sad is that?

    Long Term VSG Sleevers?

Hey CrissyG! Glad to hear you're doing well and so close to goal. I can't believe that if I have similar results to yours, that I'll be down 60ish pounds by mid November! Looking forward to autumn shopping!! You must be feeling pretty good? Have you indulged a little and bought some cute new things? I have a question for you about fullness. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the tiny meals... Do you eat 2oz of food and think, "ugh, I'm stuffed... I can't eat another bite?" It just doesn't seem to make sense to my brain (which loves eating and sometimes gets annoyed that my stomach gets full too soon). Fullness is literally the only thing that stops me from wanting more but I'm still kind of unclear what to expect. Does it feel full like before or is it a different sensation? Hi and I haven't shopped a bit. I am so not a shopper and I thought with my weight loss that would change but it has not. I am trying to avoid the big S word until I meet goal although I have nothing that doesn't look like a tent on me. LOL Head hunger (my brain's love for food) is still a big issue. While it is better, it hasn't went away completely and I am not sure if it will. I eat very slow....one meal takes about 30 minutes and sometimes longer to eat. So heating hot meals is not a common occurrence anymore. I don't measure ever, I just listen to what my tummy tells me. If there are leftovers then they are my next meal. Remember 6 meals a day now, not 3. Theses meals are tiny and overeating has led me to many bouts of vomiting which is so not good. Sometimes I literally feel like my food is hanging out in my esophogus. It is not fun. It is still trial and error for me and I mess up more than I like to admit. I do a low carb diet and have joined groups on Facebook to get ideas and recipes. As far as the most unnecessary food (slider food-food that just opens up the flood gates and sends the food running to my intestines without proper digestion or dumping as many people call it) is watermelon. I love watermelon and my tummy still loves it too. I do not eat it often for the reasons stated in parenthesis above but boy do I love it. Lots of chicken breast, low fat meat, and very little to practically no carbs is a important key. I try to stay under 30 carbs a day including beverages. Protein, protein and more protein is your best friend. When I am too full, I have physical discomfort and when I am right where I need to be I feel satiated even though my head says it is so yummy clean your plate. If I slightly overeat, I want to take a nap. Hope these tips help.

    Long Term VSG Sleevers?

Congrats on your upcoming date. It'll be over and you'll be home recuperating before you know it. It is hard to believe that even though it hasn't been quite 4 months yet, I am almost to my goal weight. The good part is that acceptance has kicked in and the head hunger has eased. All in all, I don't think that things could have been any easier. Be sure to stay in touch with me and keep me posted on how you're doing.

    Long Term VSG Sleevers?

Hi everyone. I thought I'd take a moment to pop in and see how things are moving along for everyone. I am now about 8 days from being 4 months post-op and the scale is still moving. Thank goodness. I need to update my ticker but for the record I am now down 62lbs. I am just a few pounds from my goal weight. I wanted to post some pics but I can't figure out how. LOL If anyone would like an update on what is going on, please take a moment to check out my blog if you haven't already. You can find it here.....https://chrissygallegos.wordpress.com/ I am adding topics as I get requests or things actually come up on my journey that I figure could help others out. I also just wanted to remind anyone who may have questions to know that I am always available to help out in any way I can. Happy Friday

    Long Term VSG Sleevers?

Hi Jamie and thanks for responding. Right now, I am dealing with nausea by just dealing with it. Once I am up and moving around the nausea subsides. Breakfast is an issue for me and always has been. I am not an early morning eater. Due to my thyroid issues, its meds first thing and then I have to wait at least an hour before I can eat. Blah for that. So I force myself to have foods in the early part of the day although I am just not hungry. Which sometimes aggravates my nausea because I am just not hungry. This mainly because being hypothyroid, it takes my body what seems like a lifetime to digest my dinner from the night before. The good part is that my job requires lots of walking around the place in which I burn on average about 400 calories a day just at work. That is more than half of the calories I take in a day. Constipation is a huge issue for me but that isn't due to my surgery it is due to my hypothyroidism. It has been a huge issue for 13+ years since I was diagnosed. Taking 3 thyroid pills a day is all of the meds I want to deal with. LOL @@Designer Edit I am really proud of my accomplishment with my weight-loss especially because I do have hypothyroidism. If only the surgery could have reversed that issue for me, life would be grand. Even with my surgery, weight-loss will continue to be a slow thing for me. I am okay with that. I am working on my video blog on YouTube and I hope y'all take the time to watch them. If all goes as planned, they should be up and loaded by the beginning of next week. I have never worked from home before and to be honest, I didn't take enough time even after surgery as I returned to work within days of my surgery. I plan to continue to make videos and be as involved with the bariatric world in all of my spare time plus I go to school full time online as well. I hope I'm able to keep myself occupied in my spare time and prevent boredom. In July about the date of your surgery, I should be almost 5 months post-op. I had my surgery March 18th. I hope to be closer to my goal weight by then. I have it set at 160lbs, but I will base it on how I look and feel. Goal weights are good but I am more into getting to a weight to where I feel good. I think I'll know it when I get there. LOL

    Long Term VSG Sleevers?

I weighed this morning and for the first time in a very, very, very long time I am below 200lbs. I weighed in this morning at 199.8. Another milestone has passed and on to the next. So if my calculations are right...I have lost 44.2lbs. Things I can't tolerate are eggs and lettuce and coffee has been a struggle but it is one thing that I honestly don't want to let go of. I gave up smoking and sodas before my surgery, gosh darnit I really want to keep my coffee so it is a work in progress. I am still messing around with my solids and have many other things I am still waiting to try. As a hypothyroid patient, my metabolism is sluggish at best and one issue that I have noticed since introducing solids into my body is nausea in the morning. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that my dinners come late and that is so not a good thing. But with my job, I rarely if ever get home by 8pm. That is changing as I will start working from home after next week and I am hopeful that being able to eat earlier will help with my nausea.

    Long Term VSG Sleevers?

Oh wow that is a bummer. What I can tell you is that Long Term is very critical about who they have doing surgeries for them. I used Maytorena but that was because I was one of the first ones to get mine done through LTVSG. I would have been okay with anyone else they may have had at the time simply because I trust the company as much as the surgeon.
