HOLY COLD.

The weather? Yes. My body? YES.

Have many of you stay cold after surgery? I don't mean chilly. I stay so cold... Bone chilling cold.

Normal or not?

I can't keep my feet and hands warm and I'm still fifty pounds overweight. I was never cold like this before weight loss.

Me too! Primarily my feet.... But it's miserable. I'm about 50 overweight too though. Boo. Glad I'm not alone with the staying cold!

I used to keep the ceiling fan on even in the coldest weather because I was too warm. I hardly ever used the comforter because it was so heavy. I'd keep the window open a crack because it was too hot in my apartment. That was 150 lbs. ago.

These days, I am so cold that I wear silk thermal underwear under my clothes. I wear silk glove liners because the gloves alone are not enough. I wear a wetsuit in the pool at the Y because I'm too cold in the Water to just go in with a bathing suit on. I wear socks every night and I sleep under that comforter easily nine months out of the year now. I have a full length mink coat my mom gave me that is the only thing that keeps me warm enough. If you've ever worn a fur coat, you know that it's warmer than any other coat no matter what the material.

My doctor said it would be a couple of years before my body acclimated to my new size. So, it's hot coffee, hot Soup, and hot showers for me for a while at least.

Also, dehydration can make you feel more cold. I have started wearing a sweater around my shoulders or making sure I have a pashmina in my bag. Even your body's attempt to stay warm burns calories!????

I'm constantly freezing and burning out those around me:-) I typically wear 2-3 layers at all times including my hubbies wool socks, yes very cute but I don't care they're warm, under armour under my jeans/pants and then a tank, shirt over that and then a jacket or sweater vest over that plus my coat when I go outside. Still cold. I have a heater under my desk and when I get home the ONLY way I can get warm is to take an extremely HOT bath. I also find that when I'm cold like this my port hurts. Ready for summer time!!!!!!

Couldn't agree more with all this... I wear layers & the only thing that helps me is a hot bath, as well. And I mean as hot as it will go. Not warm. H. O. T. My port hurts too. I'm so glad I'm not alone in this.

I think cold / hot weather affects my band a lot! I was lucky to be somewhere warm on vacation and had not one incident with my band (but I am compliant)

Back home, about 20-30* cooler

And all is well but it just feels a bit different. I baby my band more at home with hot Soups and tea and stick to fish and chicken...after all these years....is my band training me? YES

After loosing 100+ lbs of whale blubber that used to insulate and keep me warm, I am always complaining of being too cold now.

Whenever I'm sitting around watching TV, etc, I have an electric blanket wrapped around me,,,

Last week or so the temps here have been in the single digits...brutal for us non-fat people.

B52 always so descriptive. I also am cold all the time, Like Liz I wear silkies everyday. Losing "whale blubber" as B says will change your thermostat for sure. I was one of those women who was always hot, Had to have a fan on me all the time and slept without covers and as little clothes as possible Now it's silkies, heavy pj's, socks etc I also live in Florida but when it gets 25 deg in the mornings I am freezing. I guess it's the downside of losing weight but I am okay with it .

Interesting story from yesterday. Went to the pain management doctor yesterday...having some lower back pain again. He checked the area and said I needed a couple of steroid shots for muscular inflammation.

He and I have been through alot together and our relationship has gone way beyond just doctor/patient. So we talk to each other in a way that is less formal. Much less formal. He doesn't even bother to leave the room when I have to remove clothing or pull down the pants. His nurse is always there, so it's not like we're alone together but like I said, we've been through alot and having him see me strip means diddly to either of us. So, he gets me on the table and tells me he is accessing my upper butt area and starts to pull my sweater up and before he can get the pants down, he runs into the thermal top and leggings and can't figure out what to do first. He says, 'what is all this anyway?' and his nurse jumps in and says, 'if you remember doctor, it's rather cold outside and obviously the patient is unable to retain much body heat due to her small frame and lack of body fat.'

Like B-52 says, this weather is so hard on us non-fat people. Woo hoo!! Almost worth being so cold all the time to know that I'm not fat anymore. :D

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
