Requirements done in a week! Now what? Dr. Primomo from the Davis Clinic, Houston TX

Recommended Posts

OMG everything was moving super fast.

I had my initial consultation on Feb. 2.

My insurance required a psychological evaluation done Feb. 6 and 1 nutritional class/visit done Feb. 4

My surgeon required cardiac clearance done Feb. 4 and EGD done Feb. 6

I did all my requirements in a week and I was just wondering now what? I haven't heard from anybody and I just wish I was kept in the loop.

Ana

Your best answer is going to come from your surgeons office. Call them. Mine informed me of each step and what would be next.

I did all the tests required before the letter of medical necessity for approval by insurance. The doctors still don't have results. :/

I hope all is well with you guys!

I'm in a holding pattern too. Everything completed in less than a month now I have to wait 30 days for my one on one dietician visit and then insurance submission. Wish I had know this sooner because I would have done my nutrition class first. It's aggravating but I can't change the requirements. I'm so ready to get this surgery done and can't wait to start my new life. Best wishes to you all in your journey.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
