26 and only wish I'd done it sooner.

I'm 29. I went to a seminar when i was 23, but I don't think I was personally ready then. I found myself worrying over loose skin and other silly things. I think i really needed to try again by myself a couple of times. I did find myself back at the surgeon's office at 28, but certain about the decision and not giving a hoot about skin and hair type issues. I knew at that point that surgery was going to be how I dealt with my obesity once and for all. I am glad I waited until I was absolutely sure about my decision, but I think others may come to those realizations much earlier than I did. I'd say as long as you truly feel ready to make a commitment for life, go for it.

30yr (pre-op, hoping for March 2015). wish I would have started 2-3 years earlier.

35 and I really wish I had done it 4+ years ago instead of losing 90 pounds on my own only to regain 80 of them eventually. If I had had the surgery back then, I would have endured far less emotionally and put much less strain on my poor body.

I'm 59 and I would have done sooner. It's so worth it.

14 yrs

I am 29 and getting the surgery this year :)

32. I thought about it a few years ago but I wasn't mentally prepared for the challenge of such a huge life change until the past few months.

I was 36 on surgery day

I am 37 and still will be on my surgery March 18th!

Newly 50 on DOS...10 years prior I was looking into it. I did not want the RNY so thank goodness the sleeve was available.
