6 1/2 months post op and down 83 lbs (with pics)

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved July 28th and I am so happy with my progress! I'm down 83 lbs and still losing at a steady pace. I started at 262 lbs and am down down to 179! Crazy to think I'm only 30 lbs from my goal weight! I'm 5'5.5" and before surgery I was a size 22/24 in bottoms and XL in tops. Now I'm a size 12/14 and M/L. My body has changed a lot, but I've also changed a lot mentally! food no longer controls me, and I don't even like some of the foods I binged on before my sleeve. I still need to work out more, but getting on the treadmill and running at 5-6 mph isn't nearly as hard as it was 7 months ago! I'm training for my first 14er here in Colorado this summer. I can't wait! Here are some pics of me before surgery at 262 and today at 179 :)

Hi, I am just over 6 mths out...surgery August 11th. I am down 71lbs and it just blows my mind! I always said....if I could just lose 50lbs I would be thrilled. But I felt that was such a huge undertaking! This surgery is the best decision I ever made! I know I say that a lot, I hear it a lot. But there are no other words to describe it! I am still 60lbs from goal....but, that doesn't seem that overwhelming to me anymore. I really feel like I can get there this time! That being said....if I never lose another pound I would still be just as thrilled. Feeling amazing!!

Congrats to you! So exciting!!

woohoo!!!! you go girl!!! we are running close to each other! I was sleeved on the 8th...I evidentally dont realize how much 100 pds looks in appearance! you look awsome!! my hubs tells me daily how hot I look an I am having a hard time accepting it! haha..I have cleaned out my closet 3 x now an got out 4 more bags I had stored over the yrs an even giving them away! I was also in 22/24 2x top an now I am flipping out I can fit in M/L tops still in XL or 16 jeans (Iv got wide hips) even when I was 110 pds at 16 yrs old I could never get into an 8 my hip bones were just there!! lol...so I realy dont care about the number issue with me but I have been shocked on how my body has responded to this change. you look incredible! so happy for ya! I'll be posting pics soon when I get myself together! thx for sharing!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
