Stupidest question ever

Recommended Posts

Hi all! I have a stupid question! I am 5 months out and have had no problems what so ever :). The last 3 days I have had a bad case if the runs and no appetite. I teach kindergarten so I suspected it was a bug I caught from the kiddos but it is not going away! Now my anxiety is rearing it's ugly head and I'm thinking it may be something worse??? Any thoughts??

I'm five months out too and I had a similar situation last weekend. It turned out to just be a stomach bug and I was fine by Monday. Make sure you are drinking extra fluids (I stocked up on G2 to stay hydrated, though I don't usually drink beverages with calories). With it having been 3 days already, I would say if it goes on for another day or two, go to your doctor or urgent care, as most stomach bugs won't last that long.

Who knows? Could be parasites or some bacteria....go to the doctor and submit a sample to be on the safe side. Sometimes these things clear up on their own, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I developed similar symptoms while working as a PreK director. It ended up being some weird bacteria. It got worse over time as the incidents occurred more often. I was on the playground and had to go so bad, but couldn't leave the kids alone. An incident like that can happen to you when you are responsible for so many small children. My problem cleared up with antibiotics. Good luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
