Love my tummy

Recommended Posts

I am 4.5 months post op with no complications. I have lost 62lbs since the start of my journey and feel and look great. I eat well very minimal carbs, no sugar, and usually not over 800 calories. Sometimes I question if my stomach has stretched because I don't experience many of the tummy feelings I had in the first few months. I question maybe I am just making better choices and that's why or has my tummy stretched.

Well tonight I went out to a pub for a networking event my friend who is a personal trainer suggested having a cheat meal once a week. I don't use that card often but decided tonight to go for it. We ended up having Poutine with chicken. It was delicious and I didn't eat much, less than 3 oz. Well it didn't take long for my tummy to say it was unacceptable less then 20 min later I needed to visit the porcelain throne and vomit and return the delicious poutine to where it belonged in the toilet. Once I threw up,I felt great. Very happy to know that my tummy has my back when I don't make the best decision.

Just thought I would share any body else have a similar experience.

Thank you Sleeve you were the best decision I made in 2014.

I haven't vomited yet, but I feel nauseous with just a bite of anything too rich. Had a piece of sourdough bread slathered in butter for my birthday with a glass of white wine, but took just a bite or two, had a couple sips of wine, and said, "I'm done." That would never have happened before: I would have finished the basket, asked for extra butter, and had a second glass of wine. And then be wondering when my dinner would arrive. And maybe order a dessert if I was still hungry.

And that's a lot of it. I was starving all the time. 3:00 am fridge runs, gigantic breakfasts, constant grazing, always worrying that I'd be hungry an hour later. It was so hard to keep my stomach from growling.

Nowadays, it's really like my body is self-policing. Can't figure it out, but I know that it's just happy with lots of Proteins and Water, a bit of vegetables and fruit, and certain things like coconut -- and even then, it's about 1/3 cup of whatever and I'm full as a tick. Whatever this magic is, I am delighted.

I doubt that it's stretched eating so little. However, I have an observation, mostly as a point of clarification for new people reading this. I just wanted to say that it's not a sign that things are good because you over ate and threw up. A better sign is that you identify the amount of food you should eat, stop when you are getting full, and not throw up. I would worry that eating to the point of vomiting might actually stretch it.

Anyway, congrats on your loss, that's great!

Thanks for your feedback I don't even think I overrate I just think it was just not a good food choice, and my tummy decided that it wasn't interested in consuming it.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
