Waiting on Approval

Hi All, I was just informed by the BP COORD I could have up to a 1.5 month wait to find out my surgery date.

I have a 2-4 week wait to hear on approval from Fepblue, and a

1-2 week wait from GTS on a surgery date.

That seems so far away, very far away.. I've been waiting for 9 days total so far..7days business... Not that I'm counting.. hahaha

I've been keeping myself occupied with life and hobbies and I thought I was doing well until my dream last night. . In my dream my Mom performed the surgery and I was awake the whole time. I could feel the breathing tubes slide out of my nose and I'd have to put them back in my nose. I could even smell nitroux oxdie when i took deep breaths. I couldn't feel the pain, but i felt the pressure of my mom cutting into my stomach....It felt so real. OMGness. it was such a crazy dream.

@ my fellow Michiganders, what did you do to keep your mind occupied?

How long did you wait?

So 23 views, no replays. lol

Talked with my insurance my preauthorization was reviewed and their response was mailed out January 30th. So, it was 4-5 days to approve. My preauthorization was sent in 1/26 or 1/27. As of 2/4 GTS hadn't received the letter according to the program coordinator. So guessing by the 16th or the 23rd, I should find out my surgery date.

Last night I had another dream. And this time I got a call from GTS and I needed to do a week of exercise class before my date would be scheduled. lol.

For those interested, I'll keep ya posted.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
