NEED A BUDDY WHO WILL BE SLEEVED IN ROANOKE VIRGINIA SOMETIME IN MARCH 2015 with DR LUCKTONG

Recommended Posts

IF there is anyone who is being sleeved in March or April of 2015 send me a message if you are looking for a buddy, I am afraid I am going to back out but hopefully a surgery buddy will help, at least someone who understands our reasoning and journey for this.

Thank you

Hi. My name is Karen. I hope to be sleeved in march or april. They are submitting my paperwork Tuesday. Time will tell. it would be great to have a buddy because besides my husband, I haven't told anyone. You always hear the comment that it is the easy way out and it is so not. I can't deal with all that. The struggle of all these years being overweight. I cannot wait for the date of my journey to truly begin. My bmi 43.3 My journey started down this path because I couldn't fit on a ride with my nephew. I was so embarrassed. I also have arthritis degenerative disk disease, severe pain in my knee, and just generally feel old, I had colon cancer in past. I can't do the things I used to and it makes me sad. I finally want to live my life again. You are beautiful and you are strong. You can do this for yourself!

Hi Karen, my name is Yvonne and I'm having my surgery on April 20th with Dr. Lucktong in Roanoke. I just saw this post so you may have already had your surgery by now. I too am like you in that I didn't want to be in pain all the time from carrying all this weight around all the time! I have had a knee replacement, I am a diabetic , type 2, have COPD, and high blood pressure. My doctor was all for me having this surgery and I am ready for this next part of my journey to begin as you are!

Please keep in touch as I really don't communciate with a lot of people but would like to be here if you ever want to come on to just vent! Stay strong and beautiful!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
