This site and all the posts have helped me greatly along my journey to this point, I'm not sure I'd be as comfortable or as knowledgeable as I am about all of this without you all. A big thanks and to all of you for sharing and I'll let you know how I'm doing in a few days....God willing and the creek don't rise! (Southernism:)

Let me warn you the worst part after the gas pains is the pain in the belly button incision. It's a stinging horrible pain.

So I finally got the call. I am to report to the hospital on Monday at 5:30am. I can't believe that I'm only days away from this life changing event. Now it's time to get everything ready for my hospital stay. I can't forget my liquids and Vitamins. So who all are getting their sleeve on March 30th and are you ready?

It wasn't that bad to me. I was so worked up about the gas pains. Just ask for your pain meds and you'll be fine.

Hi everyone, my surgery went great. I've been having gas pains though. I'm hoping they will go away soon! Did anyone get pains from just putting anything in their new stomach? Any time I drink or eat, my stomach cramps up and then I'm burping. If you went through this, please let me know how you got past this. Pretty uncomfortable. Thanks for any help you can give.

Yes, To me it felt like a spasm. It still happens once in a while but not as bad. I kept feeling like it was hunger. Very strange feeling. Then came the acid stomach. If you do start getting acid stomach call the nurse right away and get something for it cause it will wake you up at night.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
