Hello All!

My surgery date is March 23rd, two weeks from today! I did part of the pre-op last week to get in the mindset. I have 2 weeks of the pre-op, this includes: 3 Proteins a day, 4 cups of veggies, 1 dairy. Today has not been too bad, there have been a couple times I felt hungry, I drank some Water and it went away. I am looking forward to this surgery and even the recovery. I have been encouraged by the amount of people that are glad they had the surgery! Good luck March sleevers!!! ????

Hi, I was up 4 lbs and I totally agree, how is that possible! I'm with you, we can not dwell or get upset. We'll just keep chugging along. ???? The first day of the liquid diet went well. I did add some organic broth. It was a good addition. I haven't tried the infused broth but they sound good. I hope all is well!

My weight was up 5 pounds after I ate that cheeseburger and fries last Sat. How is that even humanly possible? I was down 1 pound this morning. I basically lost a week's progress. Oh well...not going to dwell...especially since I'm on day 2 of this liquid diet. Hey have you or anyone reading this tried those new Swanson chicken broths that are infused? Like the Mexican Tortilla or Chinese Hot n Sour? I was just wondering...all these Protein Shakes are so sweet. Something savory would break it up a bit. Anyway...I saw you were starting your pre op. Yay! Good luck...stay positive!!

Starting my liquid diet today. I'm SO jealous of those of you who can eat veggies and regular food on your pre-op diet. I'm on yogurt, broth, Water, popsicles, Protein shakes......yayyyyyy. Lol!

Day one of my pre-op diet. It wasn't so bad. Were you all looking at your daily calories while you were on the pre-op? I was at almost 700 calories today. That seems high to me..

Jill I am on my last day of the pre-op diet. I have been averaging between 640 to 800 cals on any given day. I am down a little over 20lbs. MyFirnessPal flips out on me with what my intake is 1200, BUT that is for a normal 2lbs a week type plan.

Hello, Just joined this group because i am having terrible anxiety about my upcoming surgery, which is on 3/27/2015. I am very excited but i think my excitement is taking the back burner to my anxiety. I find my self up at 4 or 5 in the morning just running though so many things in my head. I am a self pay patents so my first consultations was in early February. I don't know if its because everything is happening so fast or because i haven't gone through months of monitoring, but I am so afraid that I am going to fail. I have watched youtube videos, read comments on support pages, and asked my doctor questions, but nothing has really put me at ease. I think I feel unprepared. I am about to start my pre-liquid diet on Friday and haven't even got my Protein supplement, which I will get before Friday but its just another stress. Anyway This is my last hope so the fear of failing is very really. I know I have to put in lots of work and I am more then willing to do that but I am worried that old habits will come back in a year or 2 yrs that what i keep reading at least. Anyway and thoughts and advice are welcome!

Hello, my date is March 31, and I am spending my time trying to figure out how I'm going to get my daily Protein. I decided to take the flavorless Unjury Protein Powder, mix it with my favorite crystal light, and make mini popsicles. I will update how that works out. For my B 50 complex, B12 and Co Q10, I'm going to do monthly injections (shots). They call it a Vitamin cocktail shot. I hate to swallow pills I figure this will make things a little easier for me with all the other things I have to worry about.

@chaggard; Are you sure you are ready to have surgery? If not, it's not to late the stop the process and think about it some more. I'm a self pay also, I think I have added more pressure to myself because of it. I feel like...that is a lot of money and I better not fail! I think that it comes from my many attempts to try to lose weight on my own in the past and not succeeding. Try not to worry, you will have a great tool on your side. It will be a struggle at times but you can conquer it!! Remember, if you fall off the wagon, crawl back on and start again. I'm feeling really ready and positive that I will succeed this time...and so will you!

Warning: Day 5 Post Op. Just because you feel better doesn't mean you can clean the house and sweep. Do not sweep!! I paid with soreness all night and couldn't turn over in bed unassisted. Finally, at noon today soreness and tightness went away, and my husband swept the kitchen!

The infused broth is good, but the Mexican was a little spicy - I'm post surgery, so I made it half and half with regular chicken broth. Still had a great flavor!

Omg you too?! I've been down all day today because I cleaned my house. I think it was the vacuum that did it to me though. Pulled a muscle in my right side.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
