Davinci Robot

Anyone ever heard of the Davinci Robot? This is what they used to do my sleeve.

  • Technology is amazing! I won't lie, the picture you linked - I thought it looked like some kind of robotic spider. http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/health/med-tech/the-robotic-doctor-is-in

  • My surgeon used the davinci robot for my surgery also. She told me it allowed more natural wrist turning/bending, so I was all for it. 4 wks after surgery no leaks and seem to be healing well.

It is amazing. If you google Davinci Robot images, you will see how the physician sits while it uses this thing. They say it is the closest thing to human hands. And using this is less invasive and less chances for bacteria or mistakes.

The hospital I went to is the only one that has it down in SFL. I didn't know until a few days before the surgery. It freaked me out a little, but no regrets. I have 5 incisions in my tummy and when they heal, it won't be noticible.

My surgery was laparoscopic with robot so they may have used this on me as well.
