Bathroom Smells!

I was at a support group meeting tonight and one of the topics was the horrendous smell of gas and poop after WLS. This particular person had duodenal switch. Is this specific to the DS surgery folks or is this across all weight loss surgeries?

Doesn't gas and poop always smell? lol Just saying...

Roses here. Really really stinky roses.

This is a known and pretty common problem with DS. That procedure prevents fat absorption, so it causes steatorhea, or fatty stools. It's true - fatty stools have a pretty foul and lingering odor. I've even heard that some people smell like that in general through the skin, though I can't say that I know that's actually true. I had the sleeve, and have no such problems, thank goodness!

Cotton candy and roses will never be the same for me!! LOL

Well in that case, mine is apple pie scented with essential oils from the Yankee Candle Co.

heck ive used that stuff you squirt a few drop sin the toilet before going, I use to use it at work because the bathroom is shared etc , but since the sleeve , my poop os so much les in amount etc than ever lol that and I bring in a strong pine spray so it smells like someone pooped in the woods. he he

@@Stevehud LMAO!!

We are redoing our bathroom and I considered getting one of these... ;-)

Just for general purposes - I haven't had surgery yet so cannot speak to this possible issue. If I have surgery and this becomes an issue then I might break down and buy this seat.
